Overview

BACnet is a communications protocol for Building Automation and Control (BAC) networks designed to allow communication of building automation and control systems for applications such as heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control (HVAC), lighting control, access control, and fire detection systems and their associated equipment.

The BACnet connectivity adapter module of the Bosch IoT Gateway Software allows engineers to easily integrate BACnet device connectivity to monitor and control BACnet devices.

Using BACnet devices

Using BACnet-based devices, businesses can implement fully-open, interconnected building automation system with multiple data inputs, reduced overall operating costs and ability for future upgrades.

System integrators and technology vendors can use Bosch IoT Gateway Software as part of the Bosch IoT Suite to build а complex sequence of operation, monitoring and alarming needs for BTL-listed (BACnet Testing Laboratories), BACnet building controllers, expansion modules, electronic actuators, and sensors.

The Bosch IoT Gateway Software Device Access system provides an abstraction layer so that BACnet devices can be monitored and controlled. On top of this abstraction, developers can use a variety of useful APIs to:
