Module Description

Bosch IoT Suite uses digital twin technology for virtual representation of a product, called a Thing. The Thing REST API uses the Thing entity to represent an IoT device in the cloud as a “digital twin”. This enables managing digital twins of IoT device assets like tools, cars, machines, sensors, and other web-enabled things in the cloud in a simple, convenient, robust, and secure way.

With the local Things REST API in the Bosch IoT Edge Services you can do the same even when you are not connected to the cloud. Move applications from the cloud to the edge using the same existing API, and use consistent device representation regardless of whether you work through the Things cloud or locally on the gateway.

Feature Set

The local Things REST API supports you with:

'Things' Requests:

Things endpoint – for retrieving the available information about a thing
Features endpoint – for retrieving the available information about a feature, and change the value of a feature's property
Things-Search endpoint – for retrieving all currently available in Bosch IoT Edge Services things
Messages endpoint – for sending a message to a feature with a desired message

Subscription for Server Sent Events (SSE):

For getting notified when a thing or some of its attributes and features are changed
