The following is the system architecture for the Z-Wave Module.

Z-Wave Driver

There are two implementations of the Z-Wave driver:

• Z/IP Gateway-based driver - the Z/IP Gateway is an application which allows internet Z/IP clients to contact and control nodes in a Z-Wave network. Through the Z/IP Gateway each node on the Z-Wave network behaves as if it is an IP client on the network.
• Serial API-based driver (deprecated) - the serial API-based driver is an implementation of the Z-Wave Serial and Application layers. The serial specification is no longer publicly available.

Z-Wave Device Access (DA) Adapter

This Z-Wave Devices Access (DA) Adapter is a protocol adapter for integrating the Z-Wave protocol and Device Access.
