The functional item operations are represented as direct methods in IoT devices. Also the getter and setter methods are represented as direct methods in IoT devices in Azure IoT Hub. The user is able to invoke any functional item getter/ setter methods or operations through direct method in IoT devices in Azure IoT Hub.

A direct method is a synchronous method invocation. It is built by:
