Overview
Light Link (LL) devices are purposed to be commissioned to one another, where any of the devices can initiate its own network.
Light Link devices receive special credentials after they are certified and that is why special LL commissioning can be performed only by certified devices.
Yet, it is possible to connect LL devices to an HA network if the device is factory new, i.e. it contains no network configuration.
Resetting LL Devices to Factory New
LL devices can join an HA network only if they are factory new. If a device has already been connected to a Zigbee network, it needs to be reset first. In most cases, LL device vendors provide a way to reset the device, there are cases though when the device does not carry its own means to be reset (as it is with some bulbs). There is a utility console command zigbee.zllResetAll which can be used to reset a LL device.
After a LL device is paired and the user decides to remove it, the standard Zigbee means for device removal do not work. That's why Reset to Factory New is executed by the ZigBee module. If the device is not successfully reset it keeps the network setting after removal and continues to operate in the Zigbee network.
Reset to Factory New procedure is based on Inter-pan messages. The transfer of Inter-pan messages requires that both communicating devices: the coordinator and one being reset must be very close: within 5-10 cm.
The Reset to Factory New command is only supported by the Telegesis Driver, so it is only available when using a Telegesis Coordinator.
