How to Use FI Type Factory for Quantities

Functional Item (FI) TypeFactory is described in Type Factory section of the Developer Guide of the FIM module.

The current set of quantities is available in com.prosyst.mbs.services.units.quantity package. There is a dedicated class for each quantity.

The FI TypeFactory for Quantities has:

• Supported Class – +com.prosyst.mbs.services.units.Quantity<Q> – represents a value expressed as a number and measured in the given unit;

  Specific quantities can be defined as extensions to this class.

  Prefix "+" is used to mark that all extensions of a supported class are also supported.

• UID – units:quantity:factory;
• Creation Metadata requires the parameters:
  • value (Number) – the quantity value; it is measured in the given unit and cannot be null (mandatory);
  • unit (Unit) – the quantity unit; it is supported with the Unit type factory and cannot be null (mandatory).
